God is here for the things that you have been diligently… hiding from Him.
You know you can’t hide stuff from God, right? Ok.
God is also here for the things that you have been diligently hiding... from yourself.
Shame is telling you that you’ll be condemned for these things, and condemnation is telling you you should be ashamed of yourself, and all this is wrapped up in a swirling vortex of guilt and secrecy.
Can you let Love in there? Can you let freedom walk around in the vortex? Can you let mercy have a seat right in the middle of it?
Because while it’s true that there is nothing hidden that will not be brought to light, the light is for you, not against you.
The light is going to hold these shameful, fearful, hateful things up to you and say “See this? This isn’t you. It’s a lie that’s been keeping you from me. And this? I’ve taken care of this thing, it no longer has a valid claim on you, let’s evict it. And this one! This one has been tearing a hole in your family for years, let’s heal it.”
The light shines - not to expose your faults to your accusers - but to burn up your chains and liberate you right in front of their spiteful faces… and since the light is shining from the outside AND shining from the inside… your swirling vortex of doom doesn’t stand a chance.
"For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light."
Mark 4:22
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
John 1:5
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31
"Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died – more than that, who was raised – who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us."
Romans 8;33, 34
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:1
"This is how we know that we belong to the truth and will reassure our hearts before him whenever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things."
1 John 3:19, 20
"For God who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God's glory in the face of Jesus Christ."
2 Corinthians 4:6
