Gospel Hug for a Worried Heart
If you’re concerned about the salvation of someone you love, you’re on my mind.
You want to know something?
Christians talk a lot about God’s love, and rightly so. Because God is love, we can know that He is patient and kind, He’s not envious or boastful, arrogant or rude, He doesn’t insist on His own way, He isn’t irritable or resentful, He doesn’t rejoice when His loves have been wronged, but He rejoices in the truth. He bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, and He never ends.
This God is expectant, unbothered, and relentless. The Good Shepherd doesn’t judge us for where we are on our journey, and there’s no place– no, no, no, no, NO place– that He won’t go to find us. And when it comes to a relationship of love with Him and belief in Him, I want you to know that our love and belief don’t happen in isolation, and they don’t happen first, either. Our love and belief only grow out of His.
It’s common to hear “God loves you!”… but what if I told you that God believes in you?
When we come to the point of believing in God, we’re only entering into a belief that is already there, waiting eagerly and patiently, not irritably or resentfully.
He’s not concerned about how long it might take us to join Him there–the God who endures all things has already won the waiting game.
Don’t let your heart be troubled.
