Is the Gospel the good news of Christ crucified and resurrected to give us a chance to escape eternal condemnation in spite of who we are? Or is it the good news of the restoration of who we are?
This is a very important distinction. Thank you for expounding on this. The preponderance of prescriptive preaching is one of the reasons it has been difficult for me to find a home church. Law/gospel confusion is real out here...
