Redeemed Heart Continuum
Reposting from the archives, because my heart needs it.
I realized something not-so-wonderful was going on in me this morning, and I had the presence of mind to stop and ask Jesus about it. It was a heart to heart convo, in more ways than one.
This is the second day of Easter (according to the church calendar) and how quickly after celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and my complete and perfect restoration to the Father do I fall back into my own habits apart from that Truth... my lifestyle of self-condemnation.
So today I’m pondering the heart transformation that Christ’s resurrection puts in motion; and I’m practicing recognizing and rejecting the condemnation that sneaks in through the most mundane avenues.
Do you recognize your heart somewhere on this continuum?
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our hearts before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 1 John 3:19-20
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5
