Big fan of 2 Corinthians 4:8-9. Life throws a lot at us, and understanding where your source of infinite resiliency lies is so important. For many (most? all?) of us, it is love that ultimately carries us through.

I agree. I don't think there's anything else strong enough to carry us all the way through, though, interestingly, I have seen some people use spite to get pretty far... but even spite and hatred are ultimately catalysts of love because they have no other choice.

"Here’s the thing, and it’s not an easy thing: the dangers we experience in this world at the hands of other people, or ourselves, or because of nature or natural causes, are not ultimate dangers, even if they kill us."

This is really something I've had to reckon with over the last 20 years. And it may take my entire life to move through that process of reckoning.

One of the pivotal moments so far in this process for me, was when I realized that I was resisting leaning into this truth as a protective response to the people who conflated this truth with their apathy for my suffering (and their own abandonment of their responsibility for alleviating their fellow himans' suffering, and the justification they sought in their conflation).

100%. This exact thing is a tangent I went off on and had to remove it to its own post that I will finish someday.
